A HISTORICAL PLACE...
Château de Nandy, from the 17th to the 20thcentury
A former hunting lodge built according to the plans of a square house by Androuet du Cerceau.
It surprises with its perfect proportions, harmoniously playing with the golden ratio.
The country residence of Marshal de Vitry, who welcomed King Louis XIII there as a token of gratitude for having rid him of the overly ambitious Concino Concini, the famous Marshal d’Ancre whose immense wealth prevented the king from fully exercising his sovereign power.
Built in the distinctive Louis XIII style, it withstood the passing centuries without major damage, although it declined after the post-war period.
Robert Cousin, then the inventor of brilliantine and a passionate lover of heritage, had recently made his fortune and decided to save the Château de Nandy.
He invested significant funds in its restoration and succeeded in returning it to its former splendor.
From then on, the Château de Nandy was destined to come back to life and awaken. He decided to open it to the public.
